Reground Exists To Create Positive Change
We’ve got a globe to care for and at CreativeCubes.Co, we do our bit by partnering with businesses who are doing some amazing work in the sustainability world.
We have partnered with Reground, a social enterprise that is working with local Melbourne cafe’s and businesses (like us!) to repurpose coffee waste and soft plastics.
Everything Reground collects is recycled hyper-locally into valuable products. The coffee and chaff is recycled at community gardens by mixing it through compost, meanwhile the soft plastics we collect are recycled by their local partners.
Want to do your bit at home?
Every year Australia produces an estimated 75,000 tonnes of spent ground coffee waste. The majority of this goes directly to landfill where it contributes significantly to climate change through the production of methane – a greenhouse gas which is 34 times more potent than carbon dioxide.
Luckily, you can help to reduce this waste! By using ground coffee and chaff in your garden you are diverting this waste from entering landfill and simultaneously providing a sustainable source of nutrients to your plants.
